BFM fitting Caps

BFM fitting caps are made from the same strong polyurethane as the typical Seeflex 040E connector used all throughout powder processing facilities. It snaps into place in standard BFM spigots to provide a transparent, yet secure, 100% sealed pipe end, protecting products and preventing dust emission into the factory. Available in all BFM spigot diameters, ranging from Ø100mm – Ø1,650mm.

Cap Overview

  • Easy snap-in for access, pressure-resistant design
  • Capable of running at low (-25ºC/-13ºF) and high temperatures (continuously operating at 110ºC/ 230ºF with short-term surges at 120ºC / 248ºF)
  • Can comfortably handle operating pressures up to 10psi
  • Food Grade – compliant with FDA, USDA & EU regulations Limitations
  • Only available in 30mm (1 3/16”) length. (If a longer length is required, recommend a Blanking Sock/Bin which start from 80mm (3”)

Key Benefits

There are many benefits to installing a BFM fitting cap versus a traditional plastic cover. The transparency offered by a BFM cap allows a visual into the machinery while it’s running. When machinery is off, it allows for easy removal and snap-in for inspection access or changeovers for CIP. It provides the standard 100% seal protecting product & environment from contamination.

Ideal Uses

When it comes to the installation of BFM fitting caps, there are many situations that are ideal for their use. Here’s a short list of optimal installation locations:

  • Sifters – as site glasses/inspection windows
  • Any equipment to seal off temporarily unused inlet/outlet ports (product changeover, maintenance)
  • Access ports on process pipes for product flow viewing & sampling
  • Silos, sifters, dryers, etc. to seal off ports during CIP washes
  • To seal bulk containers during transportation around the plant to keep clean

Before & After Solution

Customer Problem

Customer needed to be able to quickly & easily inspect inside a piece of machinery & seal off an outlet. Silicon/rubber covers weren’t transparent, weren’t difficult to remove & replace & can blow under pressure.

BFM fitting Solution

Blanking cap provided a transparent viewing port inside the machine during operation and could also be easily snapped in and out, as required, in seconds. The seal was secure and provided a pressure resistant environment.
